Annapolis Valley First Nation is located near Cambridge. It serves a population of 124 Mi'kmaq on the reserve and 191 off the reserve.
The Mi'kmaq are the largest of the First Nations peoples who traditionally occupy what are now Canada's eastern Maritime Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island) and parts of the present U.S. states of Maine and Massachusetts.
The Annapolis Valley is home to three First Nation communities. The other two are Glooscap First Nation (near Hantsport) and Bear River First Nation (near Bear River).

The services offered by the Annapolis Valley First Nation include the following:
Annapolis Valley First Nation Health Centre: The Centre offers diabetes-prevention and weight-control programs plus foot-care clinics. A dental hygienist is available two days a month, and there is a children's oral health initiative program. Prenatal programs and services are available for parents and babies, along with parenting workshops. Flu clinics are held during flu season. Other programs include massage therapy, physical activity programs, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, suicide prevention, injury/illness prevention, and programs promoting health and wellness.
Three Wishes Learning Centre: Established in 1998, the Three Wishes Learning Centre is a daycare centre and employs three early childhood educators. Besides childcare it offers a nursery school program, an after-school program for school-age children up to the age of 12, and cultural programs. Children can start attending at the age of 18 months.
Annapolis Valley First Nation Enterprises: The enterprises are a gaming room, a smoke shop, and a gas bar. The gas bar also sells groceries.
